SAYANTHANAM- PALLIATIVE
Many elderly and chronically ill individuals in these areas suffer from bedridden conditions due to stroke, paralysis, cancer, diabetes-related
complications, and age-related ailments. Most of them have no stable income source, and family members often struggle to provide even basic care. Lack of regular medical attention, proper nutrition, and awareness about palliative care further worsens their quality of life.
We identified around 60–70 bedridden patients in the above-mentioned coastal villages who are in urgent need of periodic medical checkups, medicines, physiotherapy support, and emotional counselling.
- We provide monthly medical and nursing visits to bedridden patients.
- To ensure supply of essential medicines and basic consumables for palliative care.
- To offer emotional and psychosocial support to both patients and their caregivers.
- To create awareness about home-based palliative care and hygiene among families and the community.
- To link patients to available government welfare and health schemes wherever applicable.
